Chevy Silverado Owner Gets Transmission Temperature Sensor Repaired

A selection of Ralph's technicians holding up various awards.Jose’s check engine light had been coming on and off intermittently for a couple months. A previous diagnostic test revealed a problem with his transmission temperature sensor. When the warning light finally stayed on for a few days and he started having some acceleration issues, Jose decided it was time to get his 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 check out by a Central Valley transmission specialist. He turned to Ralph’s Transmission in Modesto.

“I was looking for a great and trustworthy shop to repair my Silverado, so I found Ralph’s transmission,” Jose says in his Google review. “After reading their reviews. I decided to take my truck to them and that was the best decision. The shop is very clean and organized. The 2 girls in the front desk super nice and professional, especially Erika.”

Our own diagnostic tests revealed the same transmission temperature sensor fault code and a physical inspection of the component revealed that the sensor’s harness was the real problem. It was damaged and needed to be replaced. Inspection of the transmission pan and fluid also showed that Jose’s truck was overdue for a transmission service.

Our technicians were able to replace the transmission temperature sensor harness. Then, they performed a standard transmission service, which involves replacing the transmission filter and pan gasket, professionally cleaning the transmission pan and adding new transmission fluid. We also reset his check engine light. A final road test confirmed the check engine light was no longer coming on and the truck was driving much smoother after the transmission maintenance.

“My truck was ready the time they said will be ready,” Jose adds. “Ralph’s gained a customer forever. I DO RECOMMEND this place to everyone. Great job Ralph’s team!!!”
