Chevy Tahoe Owner Gets Transmission Rebuilt at Ralph’s Transmission
Gabe drives a 2004 Chevy Tahoe with over 150,000 miles on it. He recently began experiencing transmission problems and noticed the vehicle wasn’t shifting into 4th gear. He also noticed a strong burning smell. Gabe needed to get his SUV inspected, so he turned to the Central Valley transmission experts at Ralph’s Transmission in Modesto.
We arranged to get Gabe’s Tahoe towed to our shop for a transmission inspection. The road test confirmed the shifting issues he described. The transmission inspection revealed a fluid leak at the rear main engine seal and the fluid itself had a burnt odor. Diagnostic testing came back with several fault codes that prompted a full internal inspection.
Once the transmission was removed from the vehicle and opened up, our technicians found a number of damaged components. The main problem was the input shaft drum, but the torque converter and many other worn/damaged parts needed to be replaced. A full custom transmission rebuild was recommended to get the transmission fully redone and running like new again. We also replaced the rear main engine seal. Each detailed was meticulously covered by the Ralph’s Transmission rebuild specialists and our rebuild services are always backed by our comprehensive 3 Year, 100,000 Mile Warranty.
“It was a good experience,” Gabe writes in his Google review. “Very nice people at Ralph’s Transmission. They did good on the rebuild on my Transmission in my Chevy Tahoe. The only thing wrong I got a fluid leak now.”
Thank you, Gabe, for the feedback and remember you have the warranties on the transmission rebuild and new engine seal. We will be happy to take a look at that leak and fix the problem for free if it is related to the repairs we made. Sometimes the rear engine seal just needs some simple readjusting after it has been driven awhile. Just give us a call or stop by the shop at your convenience!
