Chevy Suburban Owner Recommends Ralph’s Transmission
Jamie drives a 2013 Chevy Suburban with over 150,000 miles on it. She recently began experiencing transmission problems. The check engine light came on, the RPMs were revving much higher than normal, and the vehicle was very sluggish when trying to accelerate.
Jamie brought her SUV to another shop in Patterson, but wanted a second opinion from a transmission specialist. She reached out to Ralph’s Transmission and we were able to arrange a free tow to our Modesto shop.
“My transmission went out which is never a good experience,” Jamie says. Ralph’s made the entire process as easy as possible for me! They towed my car there from another shop.”
Multiple fault codes were found during the diagnostic testing and the initial inspection revealed that the transmission fluid was completely burnt. In addition, there was a significant fluid leak at the connection with the engine. A road test also confirmed the weak acceleration and RPM issues the customer was describing.
The transmission was removed from the Suburban and dismantled for a full internal inspection. The main problem was a failed torque converter. There were also problems with the valve body, bell housing, pump housing, 3-4 clutch and several other components. Our recommendation was to complete a full custom transmission rebuild. All damaged parts would be replaced. All good parts would be properly cleaned and reinstalled. The transmission would be put back together piece by piece to make sure it was running like new again.
All transmission rebuilds performed at Ralph’s Transmission are backed by our industry-leading 3 Year, 100,000 Mile Warranty program. This gives customers like Jamie extra peace of mind knowing their transmission will run well for years to come.
“They were on top of everything, and kept me up to date on the entire process,” Jamie adds. “I would definitely recommend Ralph’s!”
