Chevy Silverado Owner Gets Transmission Rebuilt at Ralph’s Transmission

A man with soft, white gloves adjusts components in a vehicle.Jorge drives a 2016 Chevy Silverado with over 100,000 miles on it. He had been dealing with transmission problems for quite awhile before finally deciding to call Ralph’s Transmission for a proper diagnosis and repairs. The truck was grinding when accelerating in 4th gear and the transmission was slipping occasionally. His check engine light was also on.

“I write this review after the repair was made and ran my Chevy Silverado pickup,” Jorge says. “Was anxious to make the call here the 1st time since I know it was going to be a major repair but from the 1st call to where the truck is now, it was all worth it.”

Jorge spoke with one of our top service advisors, Brianna Jauregui. She helped guide him throughout the process, from dropping off his truck to reviewing the inspection report findings. Our diagnostician found several powertrain fault codes, and the road test confirmed the grinding/shifting issues Jorge was describing. It was clear the torque converter was slipping and causing this internal failure.

Once we removed the transmission and performed an internal inspection, we were able to identify the failing torque converter and other damage that needed to be addressed. A full custom transmission rebuild was recommended. The rear main engine seal and some other parts also needed to be replaced.

“Bri made this whole conversation and transaction go very smooth and explained everything my vehicle needed,” Jorge adds. “Needless to say it was at the shop for 2-3 days with a rebuilt transmission . I ran my vehicle to Santa Cruz with passengers and a loaded cargo trailer and felt relieved to be able to drive my pickup again after more than a year of being broken down.”

Every transmission rebuild performed at Ralph’s Transmission is backed by our industry-leading 3 Year, 100,000 Mile Warranty. Jorge now has peace of mind that his transmission will be running great for a long time, and we’re always here to help if something does happen.

“Thanks to Bri, Mario and all the techs for this excellent professional service,” Jorge says. “I will definitely look forward to doing business here in the future, and I highly recommend this shop to anyone needing any transmission services.”
