Central Valley Pride Since 1969

The Ralph's Technician team standing in front of a corrugated tin wall with the logo.Ralph’s Transmission is proud to be in the Central Valley. This is our home and we aim to be an integral part of our community. Our transmission repair shop has been located in the same spot on 9th Street in Downtown Modesto since 1969. Ralph Perry was the original owner, hence the name, and his family ran this business for several decades before he finally decided to retire.

Mario and Maria Jauregui bought Ralph’s Transmission in 2016. They had previously owned successful transmission shops in the Central Valley and were looking to open a new business. Mario and Maria have raised their own family in the Central Valley and have always believed in the importance of small, family-run businesses.

The Perfect Fit

The Jaureguis met Ralph and knew this would be a great opportunity. They invested time and money to completely renovate the transmission repair facility to the modern space that our customers and employees know today. This breathed new life into Ralph’s Transmission as the company ultimately celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2019 and was ready to head into the 2020s with a fresh new perspective.

Think Locally

Throughout it all, Ralph’s Transmission has remained here on 9th Street, just around the corner from the train station and other Downtown Modesto landmarks. We proudly serve vehicle owners throughout the entire Central Valley area. We get visitors every week from Merced, Stockton, Tracy, Oakdale and everywhere in between. Most of our employees are longtime valley residents and some have lived their entire lives in this area. Collectively, we all feel a strong sense of Central Valley pride. We’re happy to help our local friends and neighbors with all their transmission maintenance and repair needs.

Service First

Customer service always comes first at Ralph’s Transmission. That is why we offer free towing within 30 miles of our shop (sometimes further if you ask nicely) and free initial transmission inspections and diagnostic testing. If you think you have a transmission problem, bring your vehicle into Ralph’s and we’ll figure out what’s wrong.
