Toyota Owner Has Transmission Fluid Leak Inspected at Ralph’s Transmisson
Bradley drives a 2002 Toyota Camry and he recently had one of his CV joints (aka “constant-velocity” joints) replaced in one of his axles. The work was done at a different automotive repair facility, but he was concerned when he noticed a major transmission fluid leak under his car. Bradley decided to bring his vehicle into Ralph’s Transmission in Modesto for a proper diagnosis.
“Had transmission fluid leaking from my car,” Bradley says. “Took it to Ralph’s and it didn’t cost me a penny when they diagnosed it.”
After initial inspection at Ralph’s Transmission, our transmission technicians confirmed a serious transmission fluid leak coming from the replaced CV joint. The fluid level was dangerously low and the fluid itself was discolored, so we were unable to perform a road test. It really wasn’t necessary, however, as the problem was pretty clear. The CV joint wasn’t installed properly and needed to be adjusted.
Since the work was done elsewhere and under warranty there, we let Bradley know the problem and recommended he take his car back to the original repair facility to have the CV joint corrected. We were glad to perform our external inspection for free, top off the low transmission fluid and let the customer know our findings. Our priority is always to inspect the vehicle first and then give our customers a detailed inspection report before they proceed with any further services. This way, you can make more informed decisions.
“They told me what to tell the company that put in my CV joint and sent me on my way,” Bradley adds.”Fantastic service. Very friendly people and honest.”
Bradley, thank you for your wonderful review and we hope you were able to get the CV joint issue addressed at the other shop. If you experience any further transmission or drivetrain issues, please feel free to stop on by Ralph’s Transmission again and we’ll be happy to take another look.
