Local Business Owner Gets Chevy Service Van Repaired at Ralph’s Transmission
Bryan drives a 2006 Chevrolet Express 1500 van. It is one of his primary work vehicles as a local plumber, so he depends on this van every single day. Unfortunately, he began experiencing transmission problems recently and knew he had to get it looked at by a transmission specialist. He turned to Ralph’s Transmission for professional inspection, diagnosis and repairs.
The Chevy van was having shifting issues and seemed like it would sometimes slip out of gear when parallel parking. Then, it would also “chatter” sometimes as he drove at higher speeds. After the initial external inspection and diagnostics revealed no clear problems, the transmission technicians at Ralph’s Transmission removed and dismantled the transmission for a complete internal inspection. This is how we got to the true sources of Bryan’s transmission issues.
The rear planetary gears had completely failed and led to additional internal damage to a variety of important transmission components, including the torque converter, shift solenoids, low roller clutch and manifold pressure switch—just to name a few of the damaged parts that needed to be replaced. We recommended a full custom transmission rebuild to replace any and all worn components. Our specialists rebuilt the transmission from the ground up to get it running like new again. Once it was reinstalled back in the van, it was road tested to ensure everything was working correctly.
