Customer Has Chevy Tahoe Transmission Rebuilt at Ralph’s Transmission
Zach drives a 2012 Chevy Tahoe with over 140,000 miles on it. He recently began experiencing some major transmission issues. The SUV was having shifting into any gear other than park, and he wasn’t able to drive anywhere. Zach called Ralph’s Transmission and we arranged a free tow for him.
“Best transmission shop in the Central Valley!!!” Zach says. “Erica was on point and knows the value of customer service!”
Initial inspection of the transmission showed fluid was leaking from the cooler lines and the fluid itself was abnormally dark. Diagnostic testing revealed no fault codes, but the attempted road test confirmed the issues the customer was describing. The vehicle would not shift into forward or reverse gears. A full internal inspection was recommended and performed once the transmission was removed from the vehicle.
A failing torque converter was the main source of the problem. Several other internal parts were damaged, as well as the transmission cooler lines. We also noticed his rear main engine seal and exhaust seals were worn and needed to be replaced. The best solution was a full custom rebuild of the original Chevy Tahoe transmission. All damaged components were replaced. All other parts were professionally cleaned and reinstalled. The transmission was completely rebuilt and reinstalled in the vehicle. The cooler lines, rear main engine seal and exhaust seals were also replaced during this process to ensure everything would be working properly.
“They had my Tahoe towed to the shop at no charge and had my Tahoe’s transmission (6L80E) rebuilt in 3 days,” Zach adds. “At Ralph’s, they back it up with a 3 year 100k mile warranty for peace of mind!! As a business owner myself I understand customer relations and getting the job done right the first time is #1 priority and they nailed it!!”
