GMC Sierra Owner Gets Shifting Problems Resolved at Ralph’s Transmission
Christian drives a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 with over 170,000 miles on it. He recently began experiencing shifting problems, despite having his transmission serviced about six months ago at another shop. The truck was struggling to shift smoothly in first and second gears, and would sometimes stick in first. The check engine light was also on. He reached out to Ralph’s Transmission to schedule a free inspection and diagnostic tests.
Our transmission technicians found several fault codes when running diagnostics. An inspection of the transmission fluid revealed no issues. However, the road test confirmed the shifting problems Christian was describing. A more in-depth inspection was required to remove the transmission pan and check the cooler lines.
Ultimately, several services were recommended to resolve the Sierra’s shifting issues. First, the transmission cooler lines were flushed and cleaned to remove any contaminants from the system. Next, the transmission temperature sensor needed to be replace. Finally, a full transmission service was performed to clean the pan, replace the filter and install new fluid. This ensured no more contaminants were running through the pan or fluid lines to cause these shifting problems.
“Dropped my truck off at 8am and they had it ready to go by the end of the day,” Christian says. “They didn’t charge me for the diagnostic and were very clear about what was going on with my truck and the services they would provide if I would like to continue with them. Thank you Yvette and Mario you guys are awesome.”
Thank you, Christian, for putting your trust in our team. We’re always here to help if you ever experience further transmission issues in your GMC truck.
