Ford Super Duty Owner Appreciates Awesome Service at Ralph’s Transmission

A man with soft, white gloves adjusts components in a vehicle.Kris drives a 2006 Ford F-350 Super Duty, and recently his truck wasn’t able to engage into gear at all. In addition, the overdrive light would come on intermittently. He was worried he had a major transmission problem, so he contacted the team at Ralph’s Transmission.

Our lead service advisor, Erika, helped guide him through the process. The first step was arranging for a free tow to the shop. Once the truck was in our facility, our expert transmission technicians were able to complete a thorough inspection. Initial diagnostic testing revealed no fault codes and the transmission fluid was full and clean. However, there was a significant fluid leak coming from the rear main engine seal between the engine and transmission. An attempted road test confirmed the issues Kris was experiencing. The truck would not shift into gear or move at all.

Once the transmission was removed from the vehicle, we were able to open it up and uncover the internal damage. The primary issue was a broken coast drum. The torque converter was also failing, along with a number of other components that needed to be replaced. A full custom transmission rebuild was recommended. All damaged and worn parts were replaced. The salvageable components were cleaned and reinstalled. The transmission was rebuilt completely and reinstalled into the truck. Final testing confirmed it was running properly again—backed by our industry leading 3 Year, 100,000 Mile Warranty program for additional peace of mind.

Our team also replaced the worn rear main engine seal and transfer case input seal to address those fluid leaks.

“Erika was awesome throughout this whole process. Kept me informed nothing hidden!!” Kris says. “Honest, quality work is hard to find these days. Shoutout to the techs. Great job at a fair price. If you have transmission problems, you need to go to Ralph’s.”
