Chevy Owner Gets Transmission Rebuilt at Ralph’s Transmission
Andrea drives a 2016 Chevrolet Impala. A vehicle that new rarely will have any major transmission problems, but unfortunately all cars are not created equally, and the same can be said of manufacturer warranties. Bad things happen and parts fail, and poor Andrea was stuck in car that wouldn’t go faster than 60 MPH on the freeway. The check engine light and stabilizer warning light also came on. Before long, the vehicle wasn’t able to move well at all. Andrea was stuck in a bad situation, so she called Ralph’s Transmission for help.
“Amazing communication throughout the process,” Andrea writes in her Google review. “Office ladies were very helpful, thorough, quick and so very helpful. From the beginning to the end it was quick and very professional.”
Once the Chevy was in our shop for a thorough transmission inspection, the Ralph’s Transmission technicians found a number of concerning issues right away. Our diagnostician found several fault codes, including problems with the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Road tests confirmed the same issues that Andrea was experiencing at higher speeds. An inspection of the transmission fluid revealed that the fluid was very burnt and full of metal shavings. These are usually clear signs of major internal transmission damage.
The transmission was then removed from the vehicle and disassembled for a complete internal inspection. A number of damaged parts were found. The torque converter, pump assembly and internal mode switch had all failed. The best recommendation was for a full custom transmission rebuild. Any bad components were replaced and the transmission itself was rebuilt from the ground up to make sure it was running like new again. We also did a full flush of the transmission lines to get rid of any contaminated fluid and metal shavings that might still be in the system.
Every transmission rebuild we perform at Ralph’s Transmission is backed by our 3 Year, 100,000 Mile Warranty. We want to make sure our customers have complete peace of mind when they leave the shop. Andrea knows that if she ever experiences any more complications with her transmission, we’ll be here to help make it right again.
“I had to have my entire transmission rebuilt on a newer car and plus more that was wrong,” Andrea adds. “They communicated that with me and the price was VERY REASONABLE!”
Andrea, thank you for putting your faith in Ralph’s Transmission. We’re sorry that you had to go through major transmission repairs with such a new vehicle, but we’re glad that everything worked out with your Chevrolet transmission that is now running great again.
