Customers Get Ford Truck Transmission Rebuilt at Ralph’s Transmission
Kelly & Lesli drive a 2006 Ford F-150. Recently, they began experiencing transmission shifting issues in their truck. It would often slip out of gear when taking off from a stop (whether the vehicle was hot or cold). It was also slipping sometimes during acceleration. They knew there was a problem that needed to be diagnosed, so they turned to the Central Valley transmission specialists at Ralph’s Transmission.
With the truck unsafe to drive, we arranged for a free tow from their home in Tracy to our Modesto shop for the free initial transmission inspection. The road test confirmed the transmission slipping Kelly had been experiencing. Diagnostic testing revealed multiple fault codes related to the first and second gear ratios.
Our technicians then pulled the transmission from the Ford truck to perform a complete internal inspection. A broken input drum was the original cause of the problem, and it led to a number of other damaged components inside the transmission unit. These included the torque converter, the 1-2 transmission accumulator piston/cover, overdrive servo and a long list of other parts that needed to be replaced. Ultimately, a full custom transmission rebuild was recommended. All damaged parts could be replaced and the entire transmission could be rebuilt to ensure it was running like new again.
“While there is no joy in having your transmission rebuilt, the staff at Ralph’s are very professional and polite,” writes Kelly in a recent Google review. “They proactively communicate and comprehensively explain what needs to be done and why. They also provide a great warranty on their work.”
As Kelly mentioned, all transmission rebuilds performed at Ralph’s Transmission are backed by our industry-leading 3 Year, 100,000 Mile Warranty. We provide comprehensive coverage to give you peace of mind when when getting your truck’s transmission rebuilt by our rebuild specialists.
