Marty knew his 1999 GMC Sierra 1500 needed a lot of work before it was ready to tow his 21-foot trailer. That’s why he decided to bring his truck into Ralph’s Transmission for a full inspection, repairs and heavy duty transmission upgrades.

He said ‘no problem.” I told him while the truck was up in the air, anything that needed to be addressed call me. He did. He met me there on a Saturday and went over what I wanted.”

Marty’s truck did indeed need a lot of work to make it ready for towing a large trailer. First and foremost, his transmission needed to be rebuilt. A full custom transmission rebuild was recommended. While the truck was up on the lift, our repair technicians inspected other crucial drivetrain components and found a number of other significant problems. The front differential was failing and also needed to be rebuilt. In addition, the rear main engine seal, rear u-joint and oil filter adapter gasket needed to be replaced. Mario walked Marty through all the issues and the recommended repairs. Once he authorized the work, our team took care of the rest and his truck was ready for heavy duty towing just a week later.

“I met him there on the next Saturday to pick up the truck,” Marty adds. “He called me a couple times to tell me about other things that needed repair, and it was taken care of.
