Dodge Ram Owner Thankful for Ralph’s Transmission Warranty

A Ralph's technician works on a part that is separated from the vehicle.Norm drives a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 with many miles on it. He was experiencing some shifting problems in his truck, so he wanted to get it looked at by a transmission specialist. Norm brought his truck into the Central Valley transmission experts at Ralph’s Transmission in Modesto for a full diagnostic review and transmission inspection.

The initial external inspection revealed that the transmission band was loose, which seemed to be the primary cause of the shifting issues. However, this is also a common sign that there could be internal damage. A full internal inspection was recommended. Our technicians removed the transmission from Norm’s truck, dismantled it and inspected each component carefully. Through this process, several problems were found and a number of key parts showed significant wear and damage. This was no surprise given the age and mileage of the truck.

Some of the damaged components included the torque converter, several sensors, the boost valve, sun gear bushing and overdrive snap ring, just to name a few items. With this many compromised internal parts, the best recommendation was for a full custom transmission rebuild. Our team replace any bad parts. All healthy components were professionally cleaned and reinstalled as the transmission was rebuilt. The transmission was reinstalled in the vehicle and road tested to confirm everything was working great.

In the months since his transmission rebuild at Ralph’s Transmission, Norm has experienced a few more minor transmission issues. He brought his truck back to our shop as needed, and we have always taken care of the necessary adjustments and repairs. Thankfully for Norm, we always stand behind our work. That’s why we offer the industry-leading 3 Year, 100,000 Mile Warranty on every transmission rebuild we perform.

“Had a few issues with adjustments, but they stood behind their work and took care of the issues,” says Norm in his Facebook review. “One of cleanest and nicest shops I’ve ever been to. Very courteous and professional!”
