Jeep Owner Appreciates the Ralph’s Transmission Warranty Program

Back in 2018, Terry brought his son’s 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee in to Ralph’s Transmission for a full custom transmission rebuild. Like all transmission rebuilds we do in our Modesto repair shop, it was backed by our 3 Year, 100,000 Mile Warranty. We let Terry and his son know to contact us if they ever experienced any further transmission issues while under warranty.

Just recently, the Cherokee’s check engine light came on and the vehicle seemed to be having trouble in 2nd gear. Terry called Ralph’s Transmission to set up an appointment. Even though he knew the transmission was under warranty, he was still a little skeptical. By the time the SUV left our shop, he realized we are a company that stands behind our work.

“Ralph’s holds true to their 3 Year, 100,000 Mile guarantee,” Terry says. “Had my son’s transmission replaced 2 years ago and it started having problems. Dropped it off with them and they fixed the problem no questions asked. No charge.”

When our transmission diagnostician ran tests, several fault codes were revealed. A road test confirmed the same problems that the driver was having. The external inspection didn’t reveal any obvious damage. The transmission fluid level was full and the fluid was clean. We had to then perform a more in-depth Phase II inspection and diagnosis.

Further testing uncovered the specific problem. The governor sensor was stuck at 108 psi. Ultimately, we had to replace the governor sensor and the solenoid for proper 2nd gear operation. The repairs were made and the vehicle was road tested once again to confirm there were no further issues. Everything was back to normal and we were able to get the Jeep Cherokee back to Terry and his son a few days later!
