MARIO JAUREGUI OF RALPH’S TRANSMISSION GIVES SPEECH AT ANNUAL ATRA POWERTRAIN EXPO

Team members from Ralph’s Transmission recently attended the annual ATRA Powertrain Expo hosted by the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association. It draws transmission technicians, shop owners and parts manufacturers from all over the world. It’s a great environment for sharing ideas, looking at innovative new products and networking with other industry professionals.

Ralph’s Transmission owners, Mario & Maria Jauregui, attended the 2018 ATRA Powertrain Expo in Las Vegas from October 31 – November 3, along with a few select team members. Part of the convention is a trade show with different vendors having booths up to showcase new products and services to benefit the transmission repair industry.

However, the real heart of the event is the training. Throughout the 4-day seminar, different courses are presented by transmission experts on a wide variety of topics related to the field. Many special guests will attend and there are always spirited Q&A sessions.

One of the speeches was given by our own fearless leader, Mario Jauregui, who was asked by the event organizers to share his insights and opinions on running a successful transmission shop. In a short time, Mario and his team were able to completely turn around Ralph’s Transmission into what it is today. Though this shop has been a Modesto landmark since 1969, the facility had become run-down. Mario bought it and completely renovated the shop, infusing the business with new life and reestablishing Ralph’s Transmission as one of the Central Valley’s most trusted transmission repair shops. And, the future only looks brighter!

Mario gave a brief speech entitled “By the Numbers – Forwards & Backwards” with many other transmission shop owners and technicians in attendance. He spoke about his experiences in running a transmission shop and his approach to business, in general. Afterward, he held a Q&A session to answer all the different questions posed by the audience.

“I’m usually the one out there asking questions, so it was fun and a little nerve-wracking to be on the other side of the stage,” Mario says. “I’m glad I did it, though. I was able to share some ideas with people and I learned a few new things myself. This is always such a great event for our industry.”
