Nissan Owner Gets CVT Transmission Replaced at Ralph’s Transmission

Noel drives a 2015 Nissan Versa Note and recently noticed that her car was shuddering significantly when she was accelerating. Suspecting it was a transmission problem, she checked the transmission fluid and saw that it was almost black in color. That’s what led her to Ralph’s Transmission in Modesto for a complete transmission inspection.

The transmission technicians at Ralph’s Transmission ran diagnostic tests and performed a full inspection of the car’s CVT transmission. The transmission fluid level was full. However, it was definitely burned and discolored, which is usually the sign of internal problems. Road testing also confirmed that the transmission wasn’t changing ratios properly. Further inspection revealed major internal damage that was beyond repair. Unfortunately, the only recommendation was to replace the transmission entirely.

Noel spent several weeks thinking about it and eventually knew the work had to be done. She brought her Nissan back to Ralph’s Transmission to have the CVT transmission replaced by our team of transmission specialists. In addition to installing a new transmission in the vehicle, we flushed the transmission cooler to remove all the contaminated fluid that was running through the system. Our technicians also noticed that there was still a fluid leak at the rear main engine seal, so that was replaced as well. Once the new transmission was installed, the vehicle was road tested to make sure that everything was running correctly once again.
