RALPH’S TRANSMISSION REPLACES TRANSMISSION FOR ANOTHER SATISFIED CUSTOMER

Trisha was certain that she had transmission problems. Her 2013 Nissan Altima would shudder as it came to a stop or while it was idling. Sometimes, the engine would just die when trying to accelerate after a stop. Trisha needed to have her transmission looked at by a professional, so she brought it into Ralph’s Transmission in Modesto.

“Amazing service,” Trisha says. “I would highly recommend Ralph’s Transmission. From the moment I called with a broken down car, they were so nice, explained everything they would do and what was wrong.”

Trisha came in expecting to need her transmission replaced, but our technicians weren’t sure at first. As with any transmission problem, the team at Ralph’s Transmission wants to perform an inspection, run diagnostics and conduct a road test to identify any specific problems. Sometimes, it’s not a transmission problem at all or it’s a minor fix.

After the road test, diagnostics and external inspection, it seemed Trisha’s transmission was running normal. It seemed like it might actually be the engine misfiring or it could be a torque converter issue, which is a key part of an automatic transmission assembly. Further testing and an internal inspection needed to be performed to get to the root of the problem. After the transmission pan was removed, metal debris was found. This is never a good sign and it turns out the customer was right. The transmission needed to be replaced.

In many cases, the transmission can be rebuilt. Custom rebuilds are a specialty service at Ralph’s Transmission and are covered by our 3 Year, 100,000 Mile Warranty. Unfortunately, the damage in Trisha’s transmission was beyond repair and there was no choice but to follow the customer’s wish for a new transmission. We quickly tracked down the replacement, installed it and road tested it to make sure everything was running as it should.

“They replaced my transmission in 1 day!!!” adds Trisha. Everyone was wonderful. I’m very grateful for their help.”

Thank you for sharing your feedback, Trisha. Replacing a transmission is often the last-case scenario, but it happens. Our goal is to make sure the work is done right and that only the essential repairs are performed. If we can save you money and avoid swapping out the transmission, we will cover every option and help you make the right repair decisions.
