DODGE TRUCK OWNER HAS REAR DIFFERENTIAL REBUILT AT RALPH’S TRANSMISSION
Larrisa wasn’t sure what was wrong with her 2006 Dodge Ram 1500, but she knew something wasn’t quite right. The rear end would make a strange whirring noise and it would only get louder when she drove faster. Larrisa put up with this annoyance for a year and a half, but finally decided to get it looked at. Another shop told her that the shocks were bad. However, she wasn’t sure about that diagnosis. Larrisa had a feeling it might be something with her transmission, so she brought it to Modesto’s transmission repair specialists: Ralph’s Transmission.
“The staff are friendly and helpful,” writes Larrisa in her recent Google review. “They explained to me what was wrong and what was needed to fix the problem. They gave me a quote and time frame to complete the job. When I picked up my truck I paid the exact amount on the quote. They also warranty all their work.”
Once our team of technicians had the time to fully inspect Larrisa’s truck, multiple transmission and drivetrain issues were discovered. Several worn parts needed to be replaced while other repairs needed to be made to get the vehicle back to normal.
The biggest repair was to rebuild the rear differential, which is what was causing the loud noises while Larrisa drove. A fluid leak was discovered between the transfer case and the transmission. The rear differential needed to be rebuilt and the damaged seals were replaced. A standard transmission service was also recommended to replace the transmission fluid, transmission filter and transmission pan gasket. Last but certainly not least, the Ralph’s Transmission technicians noticed that the front drive line was missing. We were able to track down a used one in good shape to save the customer a little money on the installation.
All the work performed at Ralph’s Transmission was backed by warranties. It should be noted our 3 Year, 100,000 Mile Warranty is only offered on our transmission rebuild service. In Larrisa’s case, the rebuilt rear differential was backed by a 3 Year, 50,000 Mile Warranty while the new seals installed were backed by a 1 Year, 12,000 Mile Warranty. That would turn out to be helpful.
“I ended up having some problems with the seals that were replaced during the initial job,” Larrisa adds. “They got my truck back into the shop in a timely manner and rectified the issue at no cost. The warranty on the work and parts was hassle-free on my end. I had a great experience with Ralph’s.”
