Nissan Truck Owner Knows He Can Always Trust Ralph’s Transmission

An image of the owners and employees in the Ralph's Transmission lobby.Joe drives a 2008 Nissan Titan. He was recently out of town on a camping trip when his truck began experiencing acceleration problems. His check engine light came on and he was losing power at certain speeds—especially when climbing steep grades—so Joe assumed it might be a transmission issue. His first instinct was to contact Ralph’s Transmission, even though he was hundreds of miles away from home.

Joe had been to Ralph’s Transmission several times before. He had his transmission rebuilt in his Honda car several years ago, and he had his Titan’s transmission serviced multiple times before at our Modesto shop. Joe knew he could rely on our team to provide a proper diagnosis and recommend the necessary repairs.

“I have been going to them for the past 5 years,” Joe writes in his recent Google review. “They always show me and explain to me what needs to be done. I have had nothing but positive experience with their customer service, mechanics, and owner. I know I will get honest feedback on the my vehicle issues.”

We arranged to have his truck towed all the way from Ukiah, so we could perform a full transmission inspection and run tests. The road test confirmed the acceleration issues Joe was describing. Diagnostic testing revealed a number of concerning fault codes, but none were related to the transmission. A physical inspection of the transmission showed that the transmission looked to be in good shape. The transmission fluid was full and clean, which is usually a good sign.

Ultimately, it was determined that his transmission was not the problem. Being that we are transmission specialists, we referred him to another general auto repair shop in the Valley. It was best for him to get his truck checked out for any non-transmission issues that were causing these performance issues. In the end, he was able to get the help he needed.

“If it’s not transmission issues, they will let you know,” Joe adds. “I don’t have to worry about my vehicle when bring it here. I had to get my vehicle towed all the way from Ukiah (breakdown from a camping trip) just to be seen by them….. it was worth it!”

Joe, we’re glad to hear you were able to get your problems resolved. And, we were happy to help get you pointed in the right direction. We’re always here if you do experience transmission issues or need automotive advice!
