RALPH’S TRANSMISSION SAVES CUSTOMER FROM OVERSPENDING ON TRANSMISSION REPAIRS
Frederick was concerned about his 2002 Nissan Altima. It was having problems when running in first gear, so he knew he likely had an issue with his transmission. Frederick decided to take his car to the dealership for a professional opinion. Their recommendation was his biggest fear. “I took it to the dealership and they said I needed a new transmission for almost $4,000,” he says.
At Ralph’s Transmission, we often find that a custom transmission rebuild is less expensive than other minor repairs that can add up. Either way, it’s certainly cheaper than getting a whole new transmission from the manufacturer. And with Ralph’s, all rebuilt transmissions performed at our downtown Modesto shop are backed by a 3 Year, 100,000 Mile Warranty.
However, a full rebuild is not always warranted. Our goal is provide customers with the services they actually need and to save them money whenever possible. So, when Frederick brought his car to Ralph’s Transmission for a second opinion, we made sure he was treated right. We performed a diagnostic review and thorough inspection of his transmission. We did find some issues when it was shifting in low gear, but those problems were primarily being caused and amplified by a broken front motor mount.
Ralph’s Transmission replaced the front and passenger side motor mounts. We also performed a standard transmission service to make sure it was running as smoothly as possible. We removed and cleaned the transmission pan. We replaced the gasket, installed a new filter and refilled the transmission fluid to the proper level. After that, we conducted a road test and further diagnostics to make sure everything was working correctly. We got Frederick back on the road and he couldn’t have been happier with the results.
“It was just two motor mounts that needed needing replacement,” Frederick says. “It saved me over $3,000 and fixed my car. It rides great again.”
