FORD VS. CHEVY? RALPH’S TRANSMISSION ARE THE EXPERTS TO TRUST WITH ANY TYPE OF TRANSMISSION!
Rhonda first came to Ralph’s Transmission expecting a major transmission repair on her 2010 Chevy Impala. She dealt directly with our owner, Mario Jauregui, who made sure she was taken care of. “I met Mario and his staff when I took in my Impala for what I was sure was a new transmission,” Rhonda says in her review posted on our Facebook page. “He said he would check it for free, and I was super happy to learn that it only needed a minor fix.”
After we performed a complete external inspection of Rhonda’s transmission, our technicians found that there was a leak in the front left axle seal. It was causing transmission fluid to leak and also resulted in a whining noise whenever the driver accelerated. Thankfully, it was a pretty simple fix to replace that axle seal and perform a standard transmission service. The Ralph’s Transmission team replaced the transmission filter, cleaned the transmission pan and installed a new pan gasket. After a road test, the Impala was running normally again.
That was only Rhonda’s first visit to Ralph’s Transmission, though. Apparently, she doesn’t pick sides when it comes to the age-old Ford vs. Chevy debate. That’s because she also had a 2005 Ford Mustang that was in need of transmission repairs. “I knew I needed a transmission in my Mustang, but I had been quoted $4,000-5,000 to replace it. So, there it sat… and sat… and sat…” she says.
Ralph’s Transmission towed Rhonda’s Mustang into our shop for free. There, we were able to perform a proper inspection and diagnose the problem(s). Unfortunately, this time there were major transmission issues that needed to be address. After our team inspected the transmission thoroughly, several faulty components were found. Transmission fluid was leaking from the bell housing, the transmission fluid was discolored, the brake switch was failing intermittently, the overdrive washer had completely failed, and so had the solenoid pack.

With this many concerns, a full custom transmission rebuild was recommended. Our transmission rebuild specialists disassembled the transmission down to every single nut and bolt. Good parts were cleaned and reinstalled while all faulty components were replaced with new parts. The transmission was rebuilt from the ground up and reinstalled in the Mustang. Then further diagnostics and road testing were performed to ensure everything was working properly.
Rhonda was grateful for the detailed service, as well as Ralph’s Transmission’s flat-fee pricing structure on all transmission rebuilds. She also felt good knowing the rebuilt transmission was backed by our 3 Year, 100,000 Mile Warranty.
“The price wasn’t even close to what other places had quoted me. I also have a 3 Year, 100,000 Mile Warranty,” Rhonda adds. “I love my Mustang and was really sad when I thought I would have to sell it! Mario and his staff at Ralph’s Transmission have me one very happy driver again!”
Rhonda’s story is just one example of the commitment to quality we provide our customers at Ralph’s Transmission. If you need transmission repairs or transmission service, call us today at 209.526.1909 or make an appointment online.
