RALPH’S TRANSMISSION SAVES CUSTOMERS FROM HAVING TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION

Dolly and Pat were worried. They knew they had some serious transmission problems and figured replacing the transmission on their Dodge Grand Caravan was going to be their only option. Fortunately, they sought a second opinion and took their car into Ralph’s Transmission of Modesto.

Our ASE Certified technicians performed a thorough external inspection of the transmission and ran diagnostic tests to get to the root of the problem. We discovered that the transmission fluid was leaking from the A/C condenser. It was over two quarts low and the fluid was looking a bit burnt. The good news is that it hadn’t led to any other major transmission problems. A new transmission or custom transmission rebuild was not necessary at all.

Our recommendation was to install an auxiliary transmission cooler, which would bypass the A/C condenser and eliminate this problem. We also performed a standard transmission service to replace the transmission filter, put in new transmission fluid and get the fluid levels back up to normal. Ultimately, the work cost a fraction of what Dolly and Pat were expecting to pay for a new transmission.
