WHAT IS A TRANSMISSION REBUILD?

Ralph’s Transmission is the Expert to Trust with Your Transmission Rebuild

Though we handle all types of transmission repairs and drive train services, Ralph’s Transmission is best known for our transmission rebuilds. Many transmission repair shops will refer out complete rebuilds, but we do every one of them in-house at our Modesto, CA facility. We have expert mechanics, R&R specialists and diagnosticians who can handle every single detail involved in such a complex procedure.

A transmission rebuild is not always needed and generally we view it as the last measure if other minor repairs cannot fix the problem at hand. Ralph’s Transmission goes through a thorough process to diagnose the issues with any customer’s transmission. We exhaust every option to make sure it cannot be fixed with an easier repair. Still, in many cases a full rebuild is absolutely necessary.

If a rebuild is required, our technicians will take it apart piece by piece. It doesn’t matter if the transmission is automatic or manual, foreign or domestic. We can handle any transmission out there. During the rebuild process, any bad components will be replaced and all parts will be cleaned. Then it is painstakingly put back together. Every nut, bolt, seal and gear is inspected and reattached where it belongs.

One of the great benefits of a transmission rebuild is that the transmission is essentially like brand new again once it rolls off our line and is installed back in your car. Minor repairs can fix many problems, but a rebuild ensures there will likely not be any more issues with your transmission any time soon. In fact, we guarantee it!

One reason customers turn to us is because every transmission rebuilt at Ralph’s Transmission is backed by our groundbreaking 3 year/100,000 mile warranty. If any problems arise during that warranty time, we’ll cover the repairs and conduct another full rebuild if needed. For more information about our warranty, click here.

Hopefully, you don’t have to get your transmission rebuilt, but life happens. Our goal is to get your car back on the road as soon as possible and we’ll work with you to make sure you are comfortable with every repair that needs to happen. We believe in a personal approach.
