Kevin and his wife, Joetta, recently bought a used 2016 Hyundai Elantra from a used car dealership. The vehicle had well over 100,000 miles on it, so they knew it wasn’t perfect. However, they still expected things to be running well enough. The car worked great for a couple months, but then Kevin noticed that it wasn’t shifting properly. The diagnostic tests revealed no significant fault codes, but one look at the transmission fluid confirmed something was definitely wrong. The road test also showed that the vehicle wasn’t shifting into forward gears correctly. It was basically dead in the water.
