This year, Ralph’s Transmission will be celebrating our 51st Anniversary! Our little shop on 9th Street in downtown Modesto opened way back in 1969, and it is going stronger than ever today. Not many small, family-owned businesses last as long as we have, so we’re proud to have built such a great history. We’re also extremely grateful to the Central Valley community for all the years of support.
Through the course of Ralph’s Transmission‘s 51 years in business, we’ve only had two owners. That kind of consistency has been important to the success and longevity of our transmission shop. Ralph Perry originally opened Ralph’s Transmission and built a strong reputation through quality work and a dedication to personal customer service. The business had its ups and downs throughout the years, but was always there to serve the residents of Modesto and the surrounding Central Valley communities. Today, we still get visitors from all around—anywhere from Patterson and Merced to Stockton and Tracy.
In 2016, Mario and Maria Jauregui purchased Ralph’s Transmission and helped breathe new life into the business. They completed a major renovation of the facility with new heavy-duty lifts and upgraded equipment. They even developed their own proprietary customer database software to enhance customer service and communication between service advisors in the office and transmission technicians working in the shop. The Jauregui family has owned several transmission shops throughout the Central Valley, and they applied everything they learned to make Ralph’s Transmission what it is today—without forgetting the quality reputation that was built up before they took over.
“Quality customer service will always be our top priority,” Mario says. “Ralph built something special here. Our goal was to continue his incredible legacy while bringing in some modern ideas to make sure Ralph’s Transmission is here for many more years—and hopefully decades—to come.”
