Honda Owner Treated Like Family at Ralph’s Transmission

Sarah first visited Ralph’s Transmission a couple months ago because her 2005 Honda Odyssey was not running right. It was struggling to move forward at all when the vehicle was put into gear. She wanted to have the transmission inspected and repaired by Central Valley transmission specialists.

“The staff at Ralph’s really make you feel like family,” Sarah says. “They go the extra mile to ensure that your vehicle is properly fixed.”

The technicians at Ralph’s Transmission first performed a free external inspection and diagnostic testing of the SUV’s transmission. The transmission fluid was significantly burnt and a road test also confirmed what Sarah had described. Whenever the vehicle was in a forward gear, it would slip violently and often stop moving altogether. The next step in determining the problem was a more in-depth internal transmission inspection.

An internal transmission inspection involves removing the transmission from the vehicle and dismantling it. By getting inside and looking at every component, we are able to see everything that’s wrong. In Sarah’s case, the transmission case bearing was completely shot and that led to other internal transmission damage that was beyond simple repair. Our expert recommendation was to perform a custom transmission rebuild.

The purpose of a full transmission rebuild is to get the transmission system running like new again. All the healthy components are thoroughly cleaned while any bad components are replaced. Then, the transmission is rebuilt completely. It is reinstalled and road tested to ensure everything is working correctly. Just to provide more peace of mind to our customers, every transmission rebuild performed at Ralph’s Transmission is backed by our 3 Year, 100,000 Mile Warranty.

“And they honor their warranty,” adds Sarah.

After the repairs were made, Sarah began noticing a strange buzzing noise and occasional grinding of the gears. Knowing it was under warranty, she brought her Odyssey back to Ralph’s Transmission to address this new issue. It turns out the refurbished torque converter that was installed during the rebuild was not working properly. Therefore, we replaced it with a new one and everything is working great now. Even if she does encounter any more complications, Sarah can rest assured knowing that her warranty keeps her protected.

“Ralph’s should be everyone’s first choice if their vehicle is in need of repair,” Sarah concludes. “Thank you Ralph’s!!”

Thank you, Sarah, for sharing your story and putting your trust in Ralph’s Transmission to rebuild your Honda transmission.
