TRANSMISSION REBUILDS DONE RIGHT

David had a reason to be frustrated. He had just the transmission of his 1994 Ford Taurus rebuilt by another shop in Stockton, but it was still having problems and was not backed by any sort of warranty. Also, it was a Saturday and he didn’t want to have to wait until Monday. Fortunately, Ralph’s Transmission was there to help David out.

“Ralph’s Transmission was fantastic!,” David says. “After reading a review by someone that they were able to get service on Saturday, I thought I would give it a try. I called and got a hold of Mario [Jauregui, owner]. He met me at the shop and I was able to hand my car off.”

Once we had time to inspect and road test the car, our technicians could easily tell something wasn’t right with this supposedly rebuilt transmission. The gears were slipping and the reverse gear wasn’t working properly at all. Diagnostic fault codes were found in the powertrain control module and speed sensor input. Transmission fluid was leaking from the cooler line and it was a full quart low. The rear sub-spacers were installed upside-down. The wiring harness was damaged at the rack and pinion. It was quite an extensive list of transmission problems, and the only recommendation was to have Ralph’s Transmission rebuild it properly.

Our rebuild specialists tore down the transmission and rebuilt it from the ground up. Bad parts were replaced with new ones. Everything that was still in working order was cleaned and reinstalled. Once the transmission was rebuilt and reinstalled in the car, it was road tested and was running like new again.

David felt better about the transmission rebuild this time around because it was backed by the Ralph’s Transmission 3 Year, 100,000 Mile Warranty. In fact, not long after the initial service, he had to come back in because he still thought there might be a problem. Our technicians found an issue with the new side pan, which had to be dropped and replaced with the original harness. That’s why we have the warranty in place to make extra sure that the customer is always satisfied and won’t have to worry about recurring problems.

“My car had a rebuilt tranny and is performing nicely,” adds David. “Everybody at Ralph’s Transmission was great to work with. Thank you Mario!”

We were happy to help, David. We’re glad we were able to help make your transmission rebuild experience a positive one.
